We love returning visitors, but if this is your only trip to the Great North, well,
what would YOU like to do?
I've traveled widely, over 40 countries since the late 70's and I've seen a lot of beautiful roads, with amazing scenery. My "Office" is the South Klondike Highway, and it ranks very high on my list of beautiful routes. Come up and let me show you!
I can customize the day to whatever you have in mind. I'm completely fluent in Spanish and I speak enough Thai to have a basic chat. I know enough Mandarin to make Beijing grannies laugh! I've had folks from all around the world and I can confidently report a 99.9% happiness rate! My goal is to give you the experience you've been dreaming of in Alaska!

I'm Thomas Pickerel. I was born in Spokane Washington on a beautiful spring day in April. It was a Saturday, and I recall feeling very young at the time. We were on the edge of town, and I spent a lot of time in the woods, hiking and exploring. We had a cabin in Idaho too, on Lake Coeur d'Alene. At age 10 I was riding dirt bikes in the hills, and water skiing behind our boat.
I got the travel bug early. In 1979 I studied abroad, in Morelia Mexico, and my perspective was never the same after that, because travel changes your life.
I came to Skagway in 1981, at 21 years of age, for a three month summer job to earn college money. I never had the slightest intention of staying, but I kept coming, and a few years after college, I realized I was home. That was 39 years ago.
I like it here, and I think that shows in my tours. If you've waited to come to Alaska, it's time to come NOW. Half the battle is making the first step, and here you are. There is a reason they call it the Great Land, The Last Frontier, and one of the last great places.
