With 26 years of experience as a Tour Guide in Skagway, I can guarantee that your day in Skagway will be a memorable one! I've led quite a variety of tours: Small, private groups, medium-sized groups, scenic drives, canoe and horseback trips, photography tours, kayak tours, wildlife tours, historical tours, even a snowshoeing tour.
We love returning visitors, but if this is your only trip to the Great North, well,
what would YOU like to do?
I've traveled widely, over 40 countries since the late 70's and I've seen a lot of beautiful roads, with amazing scenery. My "Office" is the South Klondike Highway, and it ranks very high on my list of beautiful routes. Come up and let me show you!
I can customize the day to whatever you have in mind. I'm completely fluent in Spanish and I speak enough Thai to have a basic chat. I know enough Mandarin to make Beijing grannies laugh! I've had folks from all around the world and I can confidently report a 99.9% happiness rate! My goal is to give you the experience you've been dreaming of in Alaska!
We offer a highly personal, small group experience! Having over a quarter-century of experience touring in Skagway and The Yukon Territory, we offer the best private tour in town!
Oh, when I say "we", that's just me, I'm a one-man operation.
In the last 5 years, I've earned over 150 5-star TripAdvisor reviews! (One 4 star :"/) Now it's time to put everything together, and do it for myself.
I'm Thomas Pickerel. I was born in Spokane Washington on a beautiful spring day in April. It was a Saturday, and I recall feeling very young at the time. We were on the edge of town, and I spent a lot of time in the woods, hiking and exploring. We had a cabin in Idaho too, on Lake Coeur d'Alene. At age 10 I was riding dirt bikes in the hills, and water skiing behind our boat.
I got the travel bug early. In 1979 I studied abroad, in Morelia Mexico, and my perspective was never the same after that, because travel changes your life.
I came to Skagway in 1981, at 21 years of age, for a three month summer job to earn college money. I never had the slightest intention of staying, but I kept coming, and a few years after college, I realized I was home. That was 37 years ago.
I like it here, and I think that shows in my tours. If you've waited to come to Alaska, it's time to come NOW. Half the battle is making the first step, and here you are. There is a reason they call it the Great Land, The Last Frontier, and one of the last great places.

I like kids. I have been told that I am a good Uncle. I have often said that Skagway is a place where if you're nice to a kid when they're a kid, they will remember when they become the Mayor.
Here is my policy: If your child is mature enough to enjoy a beautiful drive, even ask the occasional question, this is a good thing and they are welcome.
I don't have any carseats. So, if you have a teeny tiny baby, and you have your own car seat, that's al
